Volunteer !
We need you and our dogs need you!

Our volunteers are the backbone of PUP. Without them, dogs would not make it to their foster home, receive good health care or training, find good homes, or survive.

Why volunteer...?

Because you love dogs and would like to surround yourself with other people who share the same passion. If you would like to participate as a PUP volunteer, here is a list of some of the activities our volunteers can choose from:

• Transport dogs

from shelters, to the vet, to training, or pick up a dog in transport for one leg of a trip.

• Foster a dog

This is an interim stop for a dog. You’d care for and socialize the dog while a permanent, good home is found. You may also be involved in some of the transport functions, as well as the adoption process.

• Train a Dog

Oftentimes dogs require training prior to being permanently placed. A volunteer trainer may house train, leash train or obedience train a dog that has had no exposure to appropriate training or house manners. Your efforts contribute significantly to placing the dog in a good home.

• Administrative

There are numerous tasks involved in relocating and/or re-homing a dog. Your administrative skills in bookkeeping, scheduling, tracking, processing adoption applications or completing paperwork for each dog are important and vital elements in having PUP run effectively and efficiently.
