Meet our Fosters

We've been fosters since last March and have had the priviledge to meet seven of the most loving, playful and deserving dogs. It all began when we were searching for a second dog. I was surfing petfinder.com when I saw the "Fosters Needed" application. Things happened quickly and within a week we were approved and on our way to pick up our first foster, Spike, a Miniature Pinscher. This was such a learning experience especially since this was also a new breed for us. In the end, we fell in love with him and wanted to keep him! When he got adopted, I cried for 3 days straight and even to this day I still think of him. He was adopted by a great couple who also had his brother so I know that he was at "home". From then, I remembered why we signed up to be fosters...to be an interim before they go to their forever home.

There are so many dogs that are sitting in shelters that deserve to be played with and pampered so it is a mission for us to help as many as we can! These dogs are no different than dogs you buy from a breeder, I know because our dog, Swarley, was bought from one. When we were looking for a dog, we didn't know a lot about rescue dogs so we overlooked that option. For our next dog(s) and for anyone looking for a dog, I will definitely adopt and encourage others to as well!

PUP is a great program because all their dogs are spayed/neutered and are up to date with shots. For Swarley as our first dog, we didn't anticipate how much this would cost so for new owners, this is a positive!

I will foster 25 dogs by December 2010.
