Jake (Jacque)

Jacque is now Jake and he lives with Kathryn.

She writes, "Jake is doing great. When we first brought him home he was timid and a little skittish. It wasn't long before he settled right in and made himself at home. He adopted the blue bunny shown in the photo almost immediately. He and his brother Ralph sleep with us every night. We give them lots of love, biscuits, and special treats.

We took he and Ralph to the coast with my husband's family. Everyone fell in love with the boys. Of course we packed their toys. Jake did well traveling, but we think that he may have been afraid that we were going to take him somewhere and leave him because he sat and trembled in the car on the way there. However, when he realized that we were staying with him, he was bouncing all over the place.

He loves it when friends come by. He is quick to run and grab toys and bring them out to see if anyone wants to play. He is definitely a source of entertainment. One of our neighbors is so taken with the boys that she has offered to dog sit anytime.

We have watched him become more self-confident as the days go by. He shares his love and affection by showering us with kisses and snuggling up with us. He knows that we are his family and that he is loved. We've let him know that he is here to stay and that he can look forward to happy days with us for the rest of his life.

I am happy to report that he has not had any skin or ear problems at all, and his coat is healthy. We take him on walks, and have taken him to the dog park one time. We cannot let him off the leash yet because he thinks he can take on the big guys, but we expect after a few more visits he will become more socialized.

We are thankful for the joy that Jake brings our family. And, Ralph is thrilled to have a brother to keep him company while we are at work.

Everyday when I get home there are two little guys looking out the window and watching for me. And, when I come through the door I am showered with love."
