Brian (Mark)

Our Miniature Schnauzer, Mark went to live with Laura and Rodney. We recently received this update:

"In June we adopted a white Miniature Schnauzer named "Mark" or as his foster mom called him, "Max". We renamed him Brian. We couldn't be happier about him coming into our family. Brian wanted to tell you how he is doing..."

Being small has it's privileges

I love my new home!

I am 9 years old and I had really bad teeth so I wasn't sure anyone would want an older guy like me. Some very nice people found me and cleaned me up and had a lot of my teeth removed. I felt so much better. I stayed with a couple of great foster moms while I waited for my new family.

When I first arrived home I was a bit overwhelmed by my new younger brother Henry. Henry is so big (85lbs) and I am so small (19lbs). But soon I learned that Henry just wanted to play with me and that he would listen to me. Actually to tell you the truth, he's a great brother but he's a little bit of a wimp.

The next thing I learned was that being the older yet smaller brother does have it's privileges. I get to sleep with Mom and Dad at night. Henry has to sleep on his bed on the floor but I get to snuggle right up and get comfortable. My new home has a huge treat jar just for me. I can't believe it! It is filled with special treats that are softer and easier for me to chew. Henry also shares his bones with me.

Once a week Mom and I go to a really fun place where I get lots of treats. Mom calls it obedience class but I just call it party time. I have learned to sit, down, stay, shake, high five, go to kennel and wait. Mom and Dad say I am a quick learner, I just like the treats.

Some days Dad takes me to work with him and I get to play with kids that really love me. Dad says they have something called autism, that must mean they are designated extra super fun. Dad is always amazed because the kids who are unable to focus on anything do focus on me. I lay on their laps and they sit still and pet me. I love it!

I love my new home and my family says I can stay forever!!!!

Well, I need to go. Henry wants to play. I just wanted to thank the people who brought me to my new life! Thanks for taking a chance on an old pup!

Licks and Wags,
Brian
