Our young Lhasa Apso/Poodle mix, Kelso was adopted by Gretta. His
new name is Zorro. We were happy to receive this update:
"As Thanksgiving approaches, and I take inventory of all of the
things that I am thankful for, Zorro P. Harley is at the top of the
list. I adopted him from PUP on August 9th, a few months ago. He
just turned one year old on Oct. 16th. He is smart, funny, fun,
sweet and adorable.
I am a composer, music educator and music director. I lead a busy life
with many rehearsals and classes. Zorro enthusiastically accompanies me to
most of them. He doesn't like it when I leave him home alone. When I can't
take him with me, he sees his friends at doggie daycare. When he is with
me at my rehearsals or classes, he chews on his bone or sleeps at my feet
or under the piano as music happens around him. Everyone who meets Zorro
falls in love with him.
Zorro loves walking, and we take a couple of long walks every
day, and a few times a week we go into the woods, where he
romps around and smells the ferns, chases his ball, and stays
close to my side. He has a couple of nicknames, one being
Ferdinand, after the children’s story about the bull who lies
around smelling flowers all day. Zorro loves to smell low
lying bushes, ferns, flowers for minutes on end. |

His other favorite pastime is playing tug of war / fetch
with me. He loves to sit by my feet when I am working, reading
or watching a movie. He is very comfortable in his new home
and I am delighted to have him share my life with me.
Zorro loves people, especially children. He loves meeting
other dogs and is really good with them. Zorro is my first
dog. I couldn’t have asked for a better dog buddy.
We are in school at
Cascade
K9 in Issaquah where he is doing very well. (We see Laura,
who he remembers as his foster mom before we found each
other.) We are working at sits, downs, stands, informal calls,
and climbs. We are also working at his chewing on things he
shouldn't, like his leash and various objects he finds out in
the world, including chicken bones I pull out of his mouth a
couple of times a week. (He gets them from people who throw
them on lawns and in gardens. Scary.)
Thank you PUP for being the conduit for giving me this
amazingly smart, independent, affectionate, fun pup! Happy
Thanksgiving."
