Our cute Llasa mix, Saige was adopted by Susan.
She wrote, "I am so thankful that I adopted her.
Saige and I are great buddies. I got a seat for the car for
her that has an air pillow that goes in the bottom so she sits
up high enough so she can see out and let her ears flap in the
breeze (all while she is harnessed safely inside).
When Saige first came to my house she'd sleep
at the end of the bed. We have surely bonded because now she
comes up and lays her head on my pillow and her body has to be
touching mine somewhere for her to settle down. I think she's
happy and I absolutely am! She's the
perfect dog for me and I anticipate we will have many great years
ahead.
Thank you to all of you at PUP - everyone has been so
helpful and encouraging and if Saige is an indication, you do a
great job with your animals."
In January, 2008 we received this wonderful story from Susan:
"Just wanted to
check in and tell you that Saige and I are having a wonderful time.
She has been such a blessing in my life.
As you may recall,
Saige is mostly blind. According to the vet she can, at best, see
dark and light. Well, a few months ago, a cat appeared in our
yard and befriended us. It's not that Saige is a stranger to cats.
She shares her home with five indoor cats and while they tolerate
each other, I wouldn't say they are "friends." However, this
neighborhood cat has truly befriended Saige and I.
Autumn (what I
call the cat) comes into the yard every time we are outside. The
two of them play, snuggle up to each other, race to see who can
get up the sidewalk and to the gate fastest, and Autumn does
something I've never seen a cat do. When I call Saige, Autumn will
go out into the yard and herd her back to me. They have such an
amazing relationship that it seems that God sent Autumn to be
Saige's sight.
