Our handsome boy, Moses
has found love with Trish.
Trish is
learning how to be the "pack leader" with Moses. She's an
amazing woman who is reading all she can to become a great pet owner...of a Chihuahua no less!
Trish writes,
"Thank you again for helping Mosey and I find each other! We seemed to bond
the instant we met!!
He did come with his own little set of issues, however. (No one is perfect!) It seems that little
kids and little dogs both like to be the leader. Mosey was
no exception. In the beginning I needed to read some books
on being “pack leader” to help get us through the adjustment period. Mosey had to learn our rules and
discover that he couldn’t be the boss!
Although Mosey was extremely
attached to me from the start, he was very fearful of the men in our
household. In addition, he would cower whenever we asked him to “Sit” and
run to hide if we told him “No”. He stayed far away from my husband and
son even if they tried to bribe him with treats. It’s probably best we
don’t know the reasons why he was so afraid.
As Mosey’s foster mom pointed out, patience, love, and consistency (along with treats!) are the
key. After 3 months Mosey continues to gain confidence.
He loves our routine, follows every rule, and is
becoming increasingly affectionate with the guys. They love seeing how
excited he gets when they come home each day. The time and effort we have
put into helping him find his place within our pack have been well worth it.
I absolutely love his kisses and cuddling
every day. I love how he circles around the room at breakneck speed and
then jumps up into my lap to lick my face. I love hiking and jogging with him by my side. We love
watching him play with his toys and jump up for treats or
wag his tail so hard it shakes his entire body. It's
incredible how much joy he brings into our lives on a daily
basis.
Mosey has a forever home now and we have a forever friend!!"
